The same statement calls for a full scan after windshield replacement on vehicles with driver assistance sensors in the windshield, and after removing or replacing bumpers, parking sensors, or driver assistance sensors and cameras.

Camera and DISTRONIC calibration

The Mercedes-Benz driver assistance guide says the windshield camera must be recalibrated after the windshield or camera is replaced or the suspension is changed. DISTRONIC radar is calibrated manually or with a calibration drive, depending on the sensor.

Paint over bumper radar

Paint over short range radar for Blind Spot Assist, PARKTRONIC and DISTRONIC PLUS is limited to two coats. If the radar malfunctions after painting, the paint must be removed or the bumper replaced. Mercedes-Benz USA also cautions that aftermarket glass may interfere with driver assistance cameras (glass statement).
